The United Arab Emirates allocated US $820million to develop satellites and plans to explore them within three years

On July 18, the United Arab Emirates announced that it would set up a special fund with a total amount of about 3billion dirhams (about 820million US dollars) to develop satellites and fund space programs

it is reported that the United Arab Emirates' six-year space development plan will launch satellites and explore Venus for the first time in three years. Previously, the United Arab Emirates launched a probe into Mars orbit as part of this plan. The special fund also encourages the creation of a global partnership on the space development program in the United Arab Emirates

Mohamed bin Zayed, the new president of the United Arab Emirates, said on his personal social media twitter, "a special fund will be established to support the booming space projects in the United Arab Emirates, and a new initiative to develop radar satellites will be launched, which is expected to continue to expand our capabilities in this key area, while accelerating environmental sustainability innovation."

the UAE media office said: "this project will help the UAE develop solutions to address climate change, environmental sustainability and strengthen disaster management. Applications will include oil spill detection, ship monitoring, and search and rescue."

the United Arab Emirates said that this move would make it the first Arab country to develop a synthetic aperture radar satellite network. The UAE media office said that these satellites would be named SIRB, which means "birds" in Arabic. The United Arab Emirates will build satellites through cooperation between the public and private sectors and international companies

the United Arab Emirates plans to explore Venus and land on asteroids within seven years, and has launched spacecraft into Mars orbit

the United Arab Emirates established the space agency in 2014. Five years later, it will send its first astronaut to the international space station, and plans to send an unmanned spacecraft to the moon in 2024. (Chenchen)
